If you’ve been crafting SCA scrolls for a while but don’t feel your calligraphy is as good as it can be, this class is for you!

The Bara method, developed from period sources by Master Juan Miguel mka Mathew Gnagy, uses custom-fitted and marked tapes to create patterns fit to an individual’s unique frame. This class will explore the theory and practice of making and using these tapes – attendees will leave with their own set of bara tapes!

Discussion and demonstration of representative hats from 16th century Germany, specifically Landsknecht. Learn the secrets of those big feathers!

This hands on class will introduce participants to materials and processes that can be used to create (and recreate) award scrolls for use in the SCA. This class is very hands on and interactive.

Practical tips on how to perform at your best in SCA fighting and fencing.
