A hands-on beginner class for those interested in creating personal pewter tokens and pilgrim badges. We will discuss techniques, tools, and materials. Students will carve and create their own pewter piece to get the real feel and experience of working with pewter. Class cost covers all materials (soapstone & pewter). Tool kits will be provided for your use. PLUS you take home several of your cast creations. PLEASE NOTE: You will NOT keep the mold you create.
Safety Considerations: MUST be 16 or older to participate. Please bring eye protection. A face mask is recommended if stone dust bothers you. Please tie your hair back and do not wear loose clothing. You will be working around open flames and pewter at temperatures of 500 degrees. Hot and Cold pewter look the same!
