Welcome to the Æthelmearc Ministry of Arts & Sciences
In the SCA, “Arts & Sciences” are the crafts, skills, and technologies from the time period and cultures that the we cover. If it was something done during the Middle Ages chances are you will find someone doing it in our organization. Participants research, study, and practice these skills and then share their results with others. You will see them in use and on display at our events – the recipes used for a feast, the armor worn in combat, the scrolls presented in court, and the clothing and accessories we wear, just to name a few. The Arts & Sciences is the lifeblood of our organization, joining our diverse arts through material and immaterial culture!

October 7: Congratulations to Lady Lartia Cerva, the new Kingdom Arts & Sciences Champion! She entered a project related to the construction of theoretical tablet weaving patterns using existing Iron Age motifs from Hallstatt, Austria. Thanks to all those who competed and to those who volunteered their time to serve as judges. Vivant!
