16 Century Maternitywear: 4 trimesters in garb

In this class Fede will share her experience researching, constructing and wearing late
period garments throughout her pregnancy and postpartum. We will discuss the cultural
context in which Renaissance Italy viewed womanhood and how that affected fashion, and
what it was like to wear 16th century garments well into the 9th month of pregnancy and
into postpartum.
