Looking Beyond the Eruption: Understanding Life at Pompeii through Archaeology

This presentation is a look at what archaeology has learned about life at Pompeii, destroyed during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. The speaker was a participant in the excavations conducted at the Casa della Regina Carolina in the summer of 2022. The talk will examine life in Pompeii before the eruption, and what archaeology has revealed about life in Roman times.
