Welcome to the Æthelmearc Minister of Arts & Sciences Home Page!
In the SCA, “Arts & Sciences” are the crafts, skills, and technologies from the time period and cultures that the we cover. If it was something done during the Middle Ages chances are you will find someone doing it in our organization. Participants research, study, and practice these skills and then share their results with others. You will see them in use and on display at our events – the recipes used for a feast, the armor worn in combat, the scrolls presented in court, and the clothing and accessories we wear, just to name a few. In a sense, the Arts & Sciences is the lifeblood of our organization!
Congratulations to the new Æthelmearc Arts & Sciences Co-Champions: Baron Caleb Reynolds (9th Century Arabic Medicinal Jelly) and The Honorable Lady Nichola Beese (handmade lamb vellum, both tannin-soaked and not, dyed with handmade inks of iron gall and brazilwood). Further recognized was Lord Cassiano da Castello who was appointed Kingdom Brewer. Vivant!
