An introduction to the Monongahela people and culture based on current understanding from archaeological evidence. The Monogahela culture was discovered during the Works Progress Administration during the Great Depression. The Monongahela culture was a Native American group based in modern-day Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Western Maryland, and Eastern Ohio.
